I'm fascinated by the intimate landscape at my feet. These are the subjects that many people might simply walk past, but I love how the smallest of details are rendered in these intimate landscapes.

I love the expressive power of trees. They stand as silent sentinels with countless stories to tell, and often take on human-like characteristics when photographed. Trees help to ground a composition, and give the landscape a sense of scale.

I have visited Death Valley every winter since 2009. Though I have exposed many sheets of film here over the years, I have learned that it is difficult to take photos that truly capture this vast expense of space.
The salt flats and sand dunes in Death Valley change significantly from year to year. Each trip is like visiting an entirely new location

I love how fleeting moments occur on both the large scale and the small scale when winter takes hold of the landscape. This gallery contains photos of ephemeral subjects that, in some cases, no longer existed not long after I photographed them.

Few things in nature are as relaxing as the sound of flowing water. These photos of cascades, rivers, and waterfalls were all photographed in soft light with long exposures.

This collection of prints showcases my best work from 2023. The photos are printed on German Hahnemühle paper with archival pigment inks. Also included are several information sheets printed on translucent vellum, and a signed title sheet printed on Hahnemühle William Turner paper.
New this year is a streamlined presentation featuring a heavyweight black paper folio with clean crisp edges, enclosed in a familiar white sleeve. This new presentation style eliminates the use of plastic, requires less packaging material, and significantly reduces shipping costs to you. These new folios are 1/3 the thickness of my previous box sets, thereby consuming less space on a bookshelf. I’m very proud of this collection of prints, and I know you will love it too. Bundles including the first volume of my upcoming zine “reflected light” are available. Both items will ship in the same package.
For those unfamiliar, zines are a soft-cover magazine-style publication less formal than a book, which allows for a greater sense of experimentation. My 32 page zine measures 8 x 10 inches and features 18 photographs with accompanying text. It is printed on uncoated 100% recycled paper (100# cover stock with 100# text interior pages)
The number of copies I ordered from the printer is heavily based on the number or preorders, and now that I am fulfilling preorders, only a handful of copies are available. Volume one of “reflected light” is available as a standard edition and a premium edition. Both editions are signed, and the premium edition includes a print of “What Once Was” on Hahnemühule photo rag baryta paper at the same size and specs as the prints included in my 2023 print portfolio. This print is not otherwise included in my 2023 print portfolio.
Update: (February 19, 2024) Thank you so much for the fantastic support everyone! To date, 314 copies of the zine have sold (155 standard, 159 premium). All preorders have shipped, and new orders will be immediately shipped. Only a small number of zines remain. If this is something you’re interested in, please order today before they’re gone.
I know the challenge of selecting multiple prints, especially when those prints are destined to hang side by side. The color palette and subject matter must complement each other to tell a greater story. My wife and I went through the same process when selecting which images to display in our living room.
Each set of matched prints is signed with a unified edition number to further connect the prints. And for those domestic customers interested in framing, I work with a custom framer here in the USA for a uniquely clean presentation. All prints are signed and numbered in the margin on the lower right edge, but I prefer to cover that signature with a mat and sign the mat with a pencil for display. This avoids the double-white of the paper and the mat, and the signature in pencil is a softer presentation. If you’re interested in framing services for matched pairs or any of my prints, please reach out to me.
