I photographed this scene on my fall 2018 visit to Zion National Park. I’ve had my eye on this maple tree for many years, but it was on this trip that the fall color was ideal to photograph this scene. I loved the transitional color, and how it mixed so well with the surrounding pine trees. Only a few days after taking this photo, none of the leaves remained on this tree.
