I photographed this scene on my fall 2021 trip to Zion National Park. I’ve always admired the look of these barren branches when set against delicate maple leaves. I photographed this scene late in my trip, and the following morning, the tree was stripped of its leaves by an overnight storm.

This photo was taken on Fuji Provia 100F transparency film with a Fujinon C 450mm f/12.5 lens on an Arca-Swiss F Metric view camera.
